Fashion to me is about decimating arbitrary barriers and breaking out of an established mold. Designers must differentiate themselves from one another; they surely do not cater to what is conventional or expected by their following. For every conventional design, there is an equal and opposite design created by the competition. Not convention, but ideas and creativity, will lead to success. Fashion is a form of expression in which we translate our artistic vision into an unforeseen, though palatable, artistic piece. It serves as the embodiment not only of our time, talent, effort, and determination but of who we are as a person.

I seek to inspire and empower other women to identify and develop their own sense of style and voice. By designing and creating clothing for the modern woman, it allows for creativity, strength and a unique individual perspective. From a young age, I would make clothing for my dolls out of anything that I could find from my grandmother’s sewing box, be it paper, buttons, scraps of materials or even broken zippers. A collage of different pieces that glisten in the light and demand attention and stage presence leading me to theater and costumes. The way a look would be seen and appreciated from the last row of an atrium is something I aspire to achieve in my work. The theater has always been something I have been drawn to and want to bring that to a wearable field. It makes people feel like they can be themselves or play a different character every day to discover their true selves.

 Each would be dressed in outfits exhibiting each doll's personality showing where they were and where they were going. This transitioned into my style today exemplifying romance with a sparkly flare, and whimsy with a sense of humor. My customer is bold, powerful and mighty, yet passionate, loving and fanciful. She has a voice and is not afraid to use it. I aspire to be a designer that encompasses the belief that women should not be afraid to be their own person and has a distinct point of view. My use of bold colors, fabrics, and classic designs represent a sense of humor while displaying richness and opulence.
